MSC was a growing colaberation between many
Christchurch bods. Hippy Chris specialised in sound and lifting stuff.
Xtine specialised
in lighting ,set work, and owned a wee truck. We could provide Sound
and
Lighting needs for most small to medium sized events, including outdoor
work, or work outside of CHCH CBD. We were motivated by a love of music
and live performance.

This section shows some of the messier audio
gear Hippy Chris threw together for a gig in the Civic, probably
2002(?). It shows how much it's have grown in the last three years. We
were using a rack powered by 2 Perreaux 6000B amps and a DC700 holden
amp hidden behind the patch bay with a fostec Crossover. The crossover
is now lost in someones garage. It worked, but was an excessively
heavy, pig-ugly mess. With the basic rack weighing in at just under
100Kg, it was something Xtine and i had both learnt to loath. Times
have surely changed with the new lab.gruppen
gear.
Also pictured is the older desk, an Audiopro 16 channel desk. I risk
offending the "old is bad" brigade by saying it is a desk i still use,
and really like! It has been largely replaced by the yamaha PM1800.
